Feb.24, 2022 - Choose your own Adventure!

 The virtual expo will bring together the employer and job seekers that have attended the Boot Camps. The full day event will be broken down by industry sector (trades, seasonal, administrative, etc.)  and employers will be given 15 minute time slots to market their company and job opportunities. Breakout sessions will be an option provided, if time runs short and further discussion is required. The session will be held virtually by Zoom

Feb.3, 2022 - Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs

Join Tony Walker of Community Futures Alberta Southwest and explore the possibility of being an entrepreneur and starting your own business. Do you have what it takes? Are you up for the challenge? Tony will be able to answer your questions and provide clarity for you be able to make that decision.

Feb.10, 2022 - Bootcamp for Employers

MCG Careers will offer guidance and support for employers on how to market job opportunities through a 15 minute company spotlight to be presented at the Career Expo.

The Employer session will focus on:

1. How to develop job ads that will attract the ideal new employees

2. Developing interview questions that give you the most insight to future employees

3. How to onboard new employees and integrate them with your current team

4. How to think outside the box with conventional hiring…consider untapped markets, different talent pools etc.

Are there specific skills or training that you require – First Aid, Food Safe, WHMIS, a specific class of driver’s license? MCG Careers will discuss how they can help with the Claresholm Job Board, pre-employment training courses, and in some instances funding for training to assist you in preparing the job seekers that you wish to hire.

Join MCG Careers for this intensive training to offer tips on resume writing, interview skills, cover letters and how to navigate virtual platforms to assist you with putting your best self forward with potential employers.

Claresholm Economic Development is leading a community initiative called Dynamic Claresholm, to develop the local economy by creating job opportunities and connecting businesses with workers.

The Town has partnered with the Claresholm Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures Southwest Alberta, MD Willow Creek and the Alberta Ministry of Labour and Immigration.  The project starts with identifying gaps between local skills and local jobs, leading to a workforce development strategy and actions to foster healthy economic growth that improves the quality of life of residents and newcomers.
